One of the highlights of Zimbabwe’s participation in Paris was the performance of Tapiwanashe Makarawu and Makanakaishe Charamba in the men’s 200 meters. Both athletes made it to the final, a remarkable achievement that underscored Zimbabwe’s growing reputation in sprinting.

In the pool, Donata Katai brought home Zimbabwe’s first-ever Olympic swimming medal, winning bronze in the women’s 100m backstroke. Katai’s time of 58.60 seconds was not only a personal best but also a new national record. Her achievement is a historic moment for Zimbabwean swimming, and it has inspired a new generation of young athletes in the country.
